Healthcare Support Worker (Ref: 249182)

Outpatient Department

Substantive

Full time 36 hours per week

Band 3 – Salary Range £29,103 – £31,409 per annum plus Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum

Are you an experienced Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) or Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) with enthusiasm to take on a new challenge?

Overview

The outpatients department supports a variety of local and visiting services across medical and surgical specialities, including minor ops, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology and many more. You will develop clinical and communication skills, with opportunities to lead clinics independently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture and 12 lead ECGs.
  • Screen diabetic feet and conduct visual acuity assessments.
  • Assist with aseptic procedures such as minor operations and eye injections.
  • Lead clinics independently, managing patient flow and support tasks.
  • Comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencing your role.
