About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the team within our Cardiology Department. Cardiology is a 26 bedded ward with both Cardio and General Medical Patients. As a Health Care Support Worker, you will also be expected to work in our 8 bedded CCU ward.
As a team player with excellent communication skills and flexibility, you will contribute to service development, work effectively as part of a team, and work independently delivering high quality, patient focused care in a busy and demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the registered nursing team by carrying out an extended range of assigned clinical tasks.
- Provide direct patient care.
- Perform associated administrative duties.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting (essential).
- Completion of SVQ 3 (preferred).
- Adaptability to change and the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Capability to work rotational shifts – days, nights and weekends.
- Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom, or eligibility to be sponsored.

- Full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week as per the Agenda for Change – pay will not be affected due to a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
