An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Whinpark Medical Practice in the Southwest of Edinburgh. The post offers up 20 hours per week, with flexibility across the working week. Hours will be undertaken in the mornings, .

Responsibilities and Role

We are looking for an individual who will complement our existing team and who further enhances our resilience to continue to deliver high quality, patient-centred care. The successful candidate will provide support to the registered nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills and will be expected to deliver relevant care without direct supervision.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience of working as a phlebotomist, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be computer literate, able to use their own initiative and be willing to undertake further training in healthcare as appropriate. Previous experience in general practice and knowledge of Vision would be an advantage.

Team Context

Our existing clinical team consists of 6 Partners and 5 salaried GPs. In addition, we have a blended team of three Practice Nurses and two Health Care Assistants.
