Healthcare Assistant – Addiction & Mental Health

Are you a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in addiction recovery? A leading residential treatment centre in the Scottish Borders is seeking full-time support staff to join its dedicated nursing team.
This abstinence-based service has been helping individuals overcome alcohol, drug, and behavioural addictions for over 30 years. With a strong therapeutic model and a beautiful countryside setting, it’s a place where lives are rebuilt and your care can make all the difference.
Role Overview
- Full-time: 36 hours/week (3 x 12-hour shifts across days, nights, and weekends)
- Support patients through detox and rehabilitation under nurse supervision
- Provide emotional and physical care to individuals and families
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and maintaining clinical areas
What You’ll Bring
- SVQ Level II in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Experience in addiction, mental health, or similar care settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of infection control and health & safety
- Ability to perform basic life support (training provided if needed)
- Compassionate, professional, and boundary-aware approach
