The role
A live NMC UK pin is required. As part of the Children and Families Health Visiting team, you will work with colleagues from health and partner organisations to support families and provide the highest quality, needs led, evidence based care within a designated caseload. This is a permanent post offering an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people’s lives in a dynamic environment.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Govan Health Centre – Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the named Health Visitor for a defined caseload of children from the antenatal period through to school entry, providing autonomous, evidence based care that promotes health, wellbeing and early intervention.
- Undertake holistic assessment, analysis and planning to identify need, develop the child’s plans and monitor outcomes in partnership with families and multi agency colleagues.
- Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway, ensuring timely developmental and well being assessments using validated tools and a strengths based approach.
- Lead and contribute to safeguarding and child protection activity, making professional judgments, escalating concerns appropriately and participating in inter agency planning and review processes.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and partner organisations to empower families, promote resilience and achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Exercise professional accountability for information sharing, record keeping and governance in line with legislation, policy, professional standards and NMC requirements.
- Provide clinical leadership within the wider health visiting team, contributing to quality improvement, supervision, service development and the delivery of compassionate, high quality care.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required
- Registered Health Visitor or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- IT skills – word processing, e mail, internet.
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Car driver.
