Responsibilities
- Conduct site inductions for all new employees, contractors, and visitors
- Carry out regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures
- Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Monitor compliance with current health and safety legislation and company policies
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports as required
- Provide guidance and advice to site management and staff on all health and safety matters
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across all operations
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and followed through
Requirements
- Proven previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer role within construction or facilities management
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Experience conducting inductions, audits, and risk assessments
- Ability to develop and update health and safety policies
- Experience preparing detailed incident and accident reports
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent preferred)
