As part of continued expansion, an exciting and new opportunity has arisen for a talented individual with appropriate appetite, ambition and skillset to lead and grow Lawrie & Symington across their site in Lanark and its surrounding areas.
The successful candidate requires someone that is able to balance multiple priorities to existing workload; manage and strengthen the department by building relationships with its stakeholders and enhancing and extending current services to both new & existing clients as a lead provider of agricultural & rural services. They are someone who wants to build a team that is fit for the modern world.
The role would expect set individual to increase property sales, undertake formal RICS Red Book valuations of farms, estates, land & residential properties for both lending and tax purposes and cover responsibilities as a letting agent. It would also involve all aspects of rural land agency including negotiating renewable energy projects, wayleave and utility projects.
- Qualified rural surveyor – MRICS and SAAVA or equivalent, RICS Registered Valuer, with rural experience.
- Tenacious self-starter with desire to be a leading valuer in these areas.
- Highly literate, articulate and analytical with ability to produce detailed written reports to deadlines.
- Team leadership qualities with a willingness to work alongside and help others including an ability to mentor staff.
An attractive and desirable remunerative package is available for the right candidate.
Whilst it would be beneficial to be RICS qualified, candidates who are QBE will also be looked at.

• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50),capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot.• All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer’s premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by privatetreaty.
