We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our busy town centre brasserie restaurant.

Serving around 60-100 covers per service, our restaurant focuses on freshly prepared dishes using quality local, seasonal ingredients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef who enjoys working with fresh produce, leading a team, and creating great food in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and team performance. You will lead by example, keeping the kitchen organised, motivated, and calm during busy service.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and talented chef who thrives in a busy environment and can keep cool under pressure. You should have strong leadership skills, a passion for fresh food, and the ability to inspire and support the team around you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the kitchen team on a daily basis
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
  • Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen organisation
  • Supporting menu development and daily specials
  • Creating a positive, professional, and efficient kitchen environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
  • A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • The ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
  • A positive, hands-on approach
  • Good knowledge of kitchen operations, stock control, and food safety

Applicants will ideally need to live in the Oakham, Uppingham, Corby, Stamford, or Peterborough area with their own transport

Remuneration and benefits

  • Base Salary of £42,000 – £43,000 (depending upon experience)
  • Share of Staff Tips
  • Typically a 48 hour working week
  • Possible Live In
  • Meals on Duty
