Job Title: Graduate Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions for MEP projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to create innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for clients.
  • Conduct calculations and simulations to ensure mechanical systems meet performance, safety, environmental, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and reports, using UK engineering design standards.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed engineering designs for projects in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
  • Participate in client meetings to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with their goals.
  • Develop an understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards relevant to mechanical design in the UK, with mentorship and guidance from senior engineers.
  • Provide technical support during project construction, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in mechanical engineering and sustainable design.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and principles.
  • Knowledge of UK engineering design standards and building regulations is preferred (additional training can be provided).
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems methodically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Any relevant internships, work experience, or industry placement would be an advantage.

Day-to-day

Your daily activities will vary based on project requirements but may include:

  • Drafting and revising detailed MEP designs in collaboration with team members.
  • Conducting mechanical system calculations and modeling in line with UK standards.
  • Collaborating with architects, electrical engineers, and structural engineers on project teams.
  • Attending project meetings and providing updates on progress to senior engineers and clients.
  • Analyzing data from system simulations and integrating results into designs.
  • Participating in on-site inspections and supporting installations during the construction phase.
  • Engaging in ongoing mentorship and training opportunities to enhance skills and career development.
