Graduate Ports and Maritime Civil/Structural Engineer

Role Overview

As a Graduate Ports and Maritime Civil/Structural Engineer you will work on complex and technically demanding maritime engineering problems within the Nuclear and Defence industries. Projects typically involve consideration of the interaction between ports, harbour and coastal structures and the marine environment.

The key challenges include:

  • Design, assessment and appraisal of marine infrastructure
  • Consideration of vessel berthing and mooring loads on structures
  • Influence of tides, waves and currents
  • Impacts of sea level rise and corrosive effects of seawater on steel and reinforced concrete

Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate or master’s degree (MEng Civil/Structural Engineering) by summer2026
  • First degree no earlier than summer2024
  • Minimum 2:2 grade
  • No prior professional role in a similar capacity since graduation
