Geotechnical Engineer

First People Solutions is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join one of the largest and most experienced multi-disciplinary consulting engineer in the UK, offering civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, transport planning, development and water/environmental services.

With a long history and strong network, they provide innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of complex projects for a range of private and public sector projects.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of geotechnical projects, contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking team, and playing a key role in their continued success.

Job:

  • Prepare and check design calculations and specifications for geotechnical works such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and earthworks
  • Conduct feasibility studies, ground investigations and design
  • Assist in the delivery of the design of geotechnical elements of existing and future projects

What we need from you:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Science or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience working within a design engineering consultancy in the UK
  • Working towards chartered status
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles and standards
  • Experience of modelling software such as Holebase, Slide, Settle 3D, and Wallap
  • Full UK driving licence
