Location: Glasgow or Bournemouth
Project: Large-scale financial services delivery programme
Contract Role

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team working on a major transformation programme within the financial services sector. This role involves building scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions that support complex business operations across multiple teams and technical domains.

You will work in a cloud first, agile environment and be responsible for delivering end to end features-from user interface development through to backend engineering. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert, contribute to technical decision making, and help maintain strong engineering standards across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, efficient full stack software solutions
  • Develop end to end features across frontend and backend systems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
  • Apply cloud first and agile principles to solve technical challenges
  • Participate in code reviews and drive best practice development standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and support a culture of learning and improvement
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technical direction across teams

Key Skills and Requirements

Essential:

  • Advanced proficiency in Java (P3 – Advanced)

Preferred / Intermediate Proficiency:

  • Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
  • Kubernetes
  • Spring Boot
  • Terraform
  • Oracle Database
