Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced registered mental health nurse to work in the Forensic Community Mental Health Service (FCMHS) as a Forensic nurse specialist. The role is full time 36 hour week based within the FCMHS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and providing clinical care to adults with forensic mental health issues, managing a caseload and organising daily workload efficiently and effectively. Excellence in clinical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, enthusiasm and flexibility are required.
Key duties include: being a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme, demonstrating expertise in forensic assessment and risk assessments, and applying risk management experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered mental health nurse with post registration experience within relevant areas.
- Experience working with mentally disordered offenders.
- Working knowledge of forensic assessment and forensic risk assessment or relevant risk management experience.
- Demonstrated specialist clinical and professional practice development through experience.
- Commitment to the welfare of adults with forensic mental health issues.
Working Hours and Pay
From 1 April 2026, a full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. An increase in the hourly rate will offset any pay loss.
