We are a small, friendly, training practice of about 5700 patients looking for a locum to cover maternity leave – 4.5 sessions for 7 months starting September 2026. The sessions are on alternate Wednesday PM, all day Thursday and all day Friday. Duty doctor commitment would be on a Wednesday PM and Thursday PM.

We are a vision practice situated in South West Edinburgh. A parking space is provided. We are situated opposite a large Tesco. The practice is in a modern building with large bright consulting rooms and views of the Pentlands. There are various community teams also situated within the building.

A non-duty session comprises of 12 appointments (mostly face to face) and 2 econsults with a handful of acute prescriptions.

Home visits are shared amongst GPs and our ANP. There is rarely more than 1 visit per GP per day and often there is no visit. Visits are usually within walking distance.

We are a friendly team and meet up every lunch for a chat, to divide out any home visits and sign repeat prescriptions. We benefit from a senior practice pharmacist and an ANP.

The post starts September 2026 and there may be a possibility this would extend past 7 months or other locum sessions available.
