Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards.
  • Install new fire extinguishers and associated fire safety equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide recommendations for fire protection requirements.
  • Inspect fire safety signage and ensure correct placement and compliance.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where appropriate.
  • Complete service reports, inspection records, and certification accurately and promptly.
  • Advise customers on the correct selection and use of fire extinguishers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
  • Manage stock levels of extinguishers, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Respond to emergency callouts when required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Essential

  • Experience servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and British Standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Competent in completing paperwork and electronic service records.

Desirable

  • BAFE Fire Extinguisher Technician qualification.
  • FIA (Fire Industry Association) training or equivalent.
  • Experience working within the fire and security industry.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.

Working Conditions
