Michael Page are delighted to exclusively partner with our client to recruit an exceptional opportunity for a Financial Controller. Reporting to the FD, the role will involve daily oversight of the finance team, producing timely month end financial data and providing useful insights to the FD and the wider Executive Team, and will provide a real opportunity to support implementing process improvements and financial policies.

Client Details

Our client is a market leading Technology Company based in Glasgow. They are enjoying continued growth and expansion, therefore are looking to invest into their Finance division.

Description

The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:

  • Day to day oversight of the finance team ensuring effective team working and achievement of reporting deadlines.
  • Preparing monthly financial accounts and supporting schedules for review (P&L, Balance Sheet (and supporting schedules), Cash movement, reports and narrative)
  • Management of year end stock count and identifying adjusting entries to inventory where required.
  • Preparing and updating daily short term cashflow projections.
  • Analysing revenue and costs using large data sets in excel/Power BI.
  • Reviewing and filing VAT returns.
  • Liaising with auditors and accountants and other professional advisors in respect of payroll, tax and financial reporting requirements.
  • Implementing software and process changes as directed by the Finance Director and wider Executive Team.
  • Comfortable discussing budgets, targets, results with Operational Management and senior figures.
  • Liaise and assist stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed.
  • Adhere to the company’s or organisation’s financial policies and procedures.
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Profile

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:

  • 1-2 years post qual accountant (ICAS or ICAEW desirable).
  • Practical experience of using xero as finance platform is advantageous.
  • Competency in excel and Power BI (power BI desired but not essential).
  • Exp with handling a high volume of transactions each month.
  • Exp with financial information being provided from multiple platforms in the business.
  • Comfortable working throughout the finance data spectrum – from transactional work to high level analysis.
  • Exposure to both statutory and management reporting, as well as budgeting experience.

Job Offer

This role will offer a competitive salary between 55,000- 60,000 plus benefits.
