Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) is one of the UK’s most ambitious decarbonisation projects, transforming depleted gas fields in the East Irish Sea into a world class carbon storage hub. By safely capturing, transporting and permanently storing CO from heavy industry, MNZ will play a vital role in helping the UK achieve its net zero targets while supporting thousands of skilled jobs across the country.
We are looking for a Finance, Cost &Reporting Analyst to provide high quality financial analysis to support the delivery of our finance objectives. The role supports the commercialisation of Spirit’s portfolio of energy transition opportunities, including the MNZ carbon storage project, a CO shipping hub on Merseyside or at the Port of Barrow, and the Barrow Energy Park development.
Location: Aberdeen. Duration: 1 year contract. Contract type: PAYE. Day rate: TBC – please provide a PAYE day rate banding expectation.
Required: right to work in the UK, notice period / availability to start.
Responsibilities
- Produce financial forecasts including annual budget and project phase estimates.
- Work closely with budget holders and contract owners to produce accurate spend forecasts and project phase estimates, enabling timely reporting on a rolling basis.
- Support payroll activities.
- Support funding requests including Shareholder AFE approvals / project gates, grant processes, and government led processes.
- Support corporate governance processes including risk management and governance processes such as board meetings.
- Deputise for the Finance Manager and provide finance insights to the business.
- Any other associated duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Accountancy or financial qualifications, e.g. chartered accountant or chartered financial analyst.
