Overview
Thank you for your interest in the position of Finance & Corporate Services Director at Lanarkshire Housing Association (LHA). LHA provides good-quality affordable homes for those in housing need and currently has over 900 properties throughout Lanarkshire. Supporting people to achieve a better future is at the heart of everything we do and we do this in partnership with Local Authorities, the Scottish Government, our tenants, customers, and other stakeholders.
To assist in the development of strong communities, we put customers’ needs and expectations at the centre of our decision making process to ensure that we deliver high quality services which are focused on people and homes. We are committed to working towards the highest standards of corporate governance and the post of Finance & Corporate Services Director can make a significant positive contribution in this area.
Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership of Financial, Corporate and Digital functions, ensuring compliance with good governance practice and other financial, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Finance, Audit & Risk: Monitor performance, detailed cash flow statements and projections and loan portfolio statements on a regular basis. Determine strategic Audit Plans & Risk Management Policy – mitigate all known risks to underpin the strategic aims of the business.
- Digital & IT: Digital Strategy – Identify areas of the business that need investment and harness new technologies, including AI, to introduce flexibility and improvements in accessibility.
- Corporate Governance: Responsibility for the development and embedding of the highest quality Governance function at all levels regarding legislation and best practice as well as lead or contribute to working groups and project teams.
- Corporate Services: including HR, Communications, Customer Services, GDPR, office management and Procurement.
- Collaboration with Executive Team colleagues to ensure that LHA is financially sustainable and in a position to contribute positively to Scotland’s housing priorities.
- Promotion of our core values and contribute effectively to leadership and the strategic direction of LHA to develop and sustain a Mindful, Connected, Inclusive and Accountable culture.
As such, we would expect the successful candidate to have a relevant track record in a senior financial role; backed by a professional accounting qualification (CCAB). Leadership qualities, commercial awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively are all relevant and valuable.
