Role Overview
South Lanarkshire Council is seeking experienced and dedicated Occupational Health Advisers to join our Personnel Services team. This role offers the opportunity to have a real impact on employee health, safety, and wellbeing across the Council.
Location & Working Hours
Location: Council Headquarters, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA. Hours: 35 hours per week. Work pattern will be discussed at interview.
Salary
£52,392 – £53,177 per year (full time)
Responsibilities
- Managing and delivering health surveillance programmes for employees exposed to workplace risks (e.g., noise, vibration, dust).
- Conducting audiometric testing, HAVS assessments, lung function screening, and eyesight tests.
- Carrying out pre employment health screening for high risk roles and providing specialist advice.
- Delivering lifestyle health checks and promoting wellbeing initiatives.
- Managing the addiction referral process and supporting employees with health concerns.
- Advising managers on workplace adaptations and contributing to health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Essential: Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Desirable: Diploma in Occupational Health Practice (or equivalent) and training in Noise and Vibration Health Surveillance (training will be supported if required).
