Centre Circle is a new partnership which aims to support 500 families in its first year, through relationship-based, whole-family support that helps struggling households improve financial stability, wellbeing and resilience.

This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2028, with the possibility of continuation, subject to funding.

Purpose of the role

Big Hearts is recruiting a Family Support Coach to provide high-quality, relationship-based family support to families experiencing poverty, disadvantage, isolation or other challenges.

The successful candidate will manage anactive caseload of families, providing flexible, strengths-based and whole-family support based on individual family circumstances and level of need.

Full-time position, 35 hours per week.

Some evenings and weekends work required.

Flexible working available, this will be discussed to suit both parties.

Our office is located in the Wheatfield Stand, Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh, EH11 2NZ.

Person specification

Essential skills & expertise required for this role include:

• Minimum 3 years experience of working directly with families, parents, carers, children, young people or communities.
• Experience of building positive relationships with people experiencing disadvantage or challenging circumstances.
• Experience of managing and prioritising a caseload.
• Experience of working within safeguarding procedures.
• Understanding of the challenges faced by families experiencing poverty and disadvantage.
• Commitment to treat people fairly and with respect.
