Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Estimator to join our team in Gogar, Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements to determine the scope of work.
• Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and equipment needs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct labor, materials, overhead, and profit.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines.
• Provide technical support to the fabrication team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and implement effective strategies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fabrication Estimator in the structural steel industry.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
