Alba Medical Group is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and compassionate Sexual Health / Well Woman Nurse to join our expanding multidisciplinary team within a progressive and forward-thinking General Practice serving the Lanarkshire community.
The post will be primarily based at Greenhills Health Centre, East Kilbride, with an expectation of flexible multisite working across the practice group where required.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nurse with a passion for women’s health and sexual health services to play a leading role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a modern primary care setting.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead and deliver a broad range of women’s health and sexual health services, providing autonomous, evidence-based care to patients across the practice population.
You will work closely with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to support and develop comprehensive women’s health services, with involvement across preventative care, contraception, menopause management, sexual health, and cervical screening.
This role would suit an experienced nurse from a primary care, community, or hospital background with excellent clinical and communication skills and a proactive, compassionate approach to patient care.
Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive Well Woman and Sexual Health clinics
- Undertake cervical screening and smear clinics
- Provide sexual health assessments and STI screening
- Support and advise patients regarding contraception and family planning
- Deliver menopause and HRT reviews and management clinics
- Provide holistic women’s health assessments and ongoing support
- Promote health education and preventative healthcare initiatives
- Support safeguarding and sensitive patient consultations where appropriate
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to clinical governance
- Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
- Significant experience in women’s health and/or sexual health services
- Competence in cervical screening and smear taking
- Excellent consultation and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexible approach to multisite working
- Strong commitment to patient-centred care and confidentiality
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience within General Practice, community services, or hospital-based women’s health services
- Experience managing menopause and HRT clinics
- Sexual health qualification or relevant postgraduate training
- Familiarity with GP clinical systems
- Experience in audit, quality improvement, or service development
