Job Description

2020 Recruitment are working with a Fife based Steelwork Fabrication company who are looking to add a Steelwork Estimator to their team.

This is a permanent position and ideal for an experienced Estimator or a skilled Tradesman with estimating experience looking to move into this level.

To be considered for this role you must have the right to work in the UK.

The Role

As the Steelwork Estimator you will be responsible for analysing project specifications and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates. Your attention to detail and strong analytical skills will be crucial in ensuring the profitability and success of our projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Steelwork Estimator your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work
  • Conduct cost analysis and prepare accurate estimates for labour, materials, and equipment
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ascertain the required information for tendering
  • Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project costs
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients in a professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation

Requirements

To be considered for the Steelwork Estimator you must have the following:

  • Qualifications or experience relevant to the role
  • Previous experience as an Estimator or estimating
  • Sound knowledge of fabrication and welding of structural steelwork, secondary steelwork, access steelwork.
  • Knowledge of Scottish Water specification requirements would be advantageous
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools
  • Attention to detail to ensure precise cost estimates
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Full Drivers Licence
