Engineering Apprentice (Electrical – Multi-Skilled)
Gordon Timber is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as an Electrical Engineer Apprentice (Multi-Skilled). This is a fantastic chance to build a long-term career in engineering with a well-established, forward-looking business.

About the Apprenticeship
This structured four-year apprenticeship provides a mix of college-based learning and practical, hands-on experience within our engineering team. You will:
- Begin your training at UHI Inverness in late August 2026, completing a 33-week college-based programme (ending mid-May 2027), working towards:
- National Certificate in Engineering, SVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations Core Skills qualification.
- From Year 2 onward, you will undertake the Diploma in Engineering (SVQ Level 3), a work-based qualification supported by a workplace assessor. This part of the programme typically lasts 2.5 years.
- You’ll develop practical skills in electrical systems while gaining knowledge across a range of mechanical and technical areas, preparing you for a future role as a multi-skilled engineer.
Entry Requirements
- A minimum of three National 5 qualifications (or equivalent)
- Ideally, English and/or Physics, with a technical subject (e.g., Engineering Science, Design & Manufacture, or Craft Skills) being an advantage
