Job Description
Salary: £19.69 per hour – Location: Stagecoach Kirkwall, Scott’s Road, Kirkwall, Orkney, KW15 1GR
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of 33 public service vehicles.
- Follow scheduled maintenance plans and respond promptly to defect reports.
- Ensure all work meets the highest safety and reliability standards.
- Carry out inspections, diagnose faults, and complete major component changes as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, ensuring compliance with company and legal safety standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to foster a positive workshop environment.
- Adapt to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
Qualifications & Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification for mechanics or technicians.
- Valid driving licence; PCV licence considered desirable.
- Ability to work in a team and under shift or day schedules.
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Working Hours & Conditions
45 hour working week with opportunities for overtime. Both day and shift work options are available.
