A bit about the role

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and take their first steps toward employment or further education? This is a great opportunity to make a real difference as an Employment Facilitator, supporting young people to unlock their potential.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering personalised employability programmes and one-to one support in Customer Service, Construction, employability and personal development. Working closely with a passionate team, you’ll help young people build confidence, develop essential skills, and move towards meaningful opportunities – whether that’s a job, training, or further study. You’ll also be there to offer aftercare, making sure they stay on track and feel supported every step of the way.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of an Employment Facilitator role are:

  • Applying Action for Children’s and professional practice standards and ensuring their implementation as necessary and being proactive in their implementation.
  • Managing and coordinating a caseload of young people, providing a range of targeted interventions to assist their entry to the labour market through group, coordinated or individual support.
  • Delivering a range of group work modules that contribute to our overall employability programmes, promoting inclusion and allowing for individual learning styles.
  • Ensuring that all compliance is up to date and accurate to meet the needs of the stakeholders and the organisation.

Qualifications

We are open to a variety of backgrounds. This could be your own first role after gaining a recent qualification or you could be looking to build on the experience you already have in youth work or employability. Either way, this is a great opportunity to enhance life chances in local Glasgow communities.

  • It would be great if you have an SVQ 3 in Social Care, Guidance or equivalent – but we are very open to relevant experience, rather than a qualification.
  • Experience in Construction or Customer Service sectors (beneficial)
  • You’ll be used to working in group settings with young people facing multiple barriers.
  • You’ll have knowledge and understanding of young people facing unemployment.

We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Diversity, equality and inclusion

We actively encourage applications from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic and disabled candidates as they are under represented within Action for Children. We want to take deliberate and purposeful action to ensure equal opportunity to all groups in society and for Action for Children. Male staff are under represented within our Children Service roles. We would like to encourage more male applicants for our Children Service roles.
