Job Description

Electrician, Ayrshire, £24.00 per hour, OT paid at 1.5x, Temp to Perm.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver electrical services across a variety of commercial and industrial environments, including hazardous areas.
  • Install, maintain, commission, and modify electrical systems, equipment, and services as required.
  • Carry out inspections, testing, fault-finding, and repair of electrical breakdowns throughout plant operations.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, supporting other engineering tasks as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
  • Identify and report equipment faults or early signs of failure, ensuring timely corrective action.
  • Follow safe isolation and de-isolation procedures in line with permit-to-work systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance, inspection, and modification documentation.
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping, safety, and engineering discipline at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work.
  • Proven experience working in hazardous area environments.
  • Strong skills and experience with cable containment systems.
  • Up-to-date IEE Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Valid SJIB grade card.
  • Full UK driving licence, essential for this mobile role.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently while on site.

We are seeking an experienced Electrician for a mobile role delivering high-quality electrical services across a range of commercial and industrial sites. This position involves travel across Scotland, with candidates ideally based in the Central Belt. The role is offered on a temp-to-perm basis and provides a stable Monday to Friday working pattern.
