Electrical Technician The Role:
A Scottish University is looking for a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer to join their team. This position is ideal for someone with solid technical expertise who wants to support projects in a fast-paced, safety-conscious setting.
Electrical Technician Key Responsibilities:
– Carrying out wiring tasks and commissioning activities for electrical networks, power electronics, electric machines, LV protection systems, switchgear, and associated control equipment
– Creating, defining, and organising technical specifications to meet project objectives, including managing procurement processes and overseeing successful delivery
– Shaping and implementing effective electrical maintenance strategies aimed at ensuring consistent system performance and reliability
– Using a strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the energy supply industry, with particular focus on LV and HV operational requirements
– Working closely with colleagues, clients, and external partners to achieve high-quality technical results
– Contributing actively throughout project execution, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety
Electrical Technician You:
– HNC/HND in a relevant discipline i.e. electrical or electronic engineering and
equivalent relevant experience is essential.
– Extensive technical knowledge in LV protection, control systems, and electrical commissioning
– A track record of overseeing projects from initial concept and design stages through to on-site implementation
– Strong written and verbal communication abilities, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels
– A proven commitment to safe working practices, consistently demonstrating behaviours that uphold the highest operational safety standards
– Well-developed negotiation and people skills that facilitate teamwork and help prevent issues before they arise
– Capable of working autonomously while successfully handling multiple priorities
– An individual who brings enthusiasm, positivity, and resilience, supported by excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to both safety and delivery
