About the role
Our client is one of the UK’s most well known Construction businesses. Due to a number of successful project wins they are looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer to their Scotland office. The successful candidate will be self sufficient and be able to develop a model/design unaided. You will be working on some of the most prestigious projects currently being built in the UK. Working on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office / 2 at home).
What you’ll be doing
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities;
- Design LV electrical distribution systems
- Create the following documentation:
- Specifications & Datasheets
- Cable Calculations & Schedules
- Drawings (via CAD team)
- Review and check manufacturer document / information for compliance with
project specifications. - Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and
suppliers.
Who we’re looking for
Qualities and experience:
- Must be proficient in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign.
- Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and
project teams to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solution - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design.
- Excellent IT Skills are desirable.
- Microsoft Office experience is essential including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint.
- Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
- Experience in a broad range of heavy industries such as Petrochemical, Power
Generation, Renewables and Nuclear.
Beneficial experience:
- Design of HV electrical systems
- Use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software
- Use of Dialux or Relux software
- Use of SKM, ETAP, Digsilent, PSCAD software
- Design of ATEX systems
