Overview

Electrical Control & Instrumentation Manager – Competitive salary + bonus + training & progression + flexible working + healthcare scheme + company benefits.

Location: Ayrshire, commutable from Ayr, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Dalry, Stewarton, Dunlop, Glasgow, Paisley.

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical and control engineers, overseeing site-wide projects, testing, maintenance, and statutory inspections of HV and LV systems, lighting, and control systems.
  • Deliver new capital projects and work packages safely, on time, and within budget, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and continuous improvement, including PLC/SCADA solutions, energy efficiency initiatives, and operational enhancements.

The Person

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronics, or Control/Software Engineering, with proven experience in electrical distribution, lighting, control systems, and PLC/SCADA.
  • Experienced in project management, team leadership, and multi-disciplinary collaboration, with strong problem-solving, communication, and IT skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and safety-conscious, capable of managing complex technical work packages while developing and mentoring a team.
