Job Description

Salary: £24,729 – £25,804 per annum pro rata

College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

Part time: 15 hours per week

Fixed term: 6 months contract

Opportunity

An Archivist Intern will conduct research to uncover hidden, untold stories of Edinburgh Medical School’s past, contributing to Learning from Our History Walking Tours, Digital Representations of Historical Spaces, and alumni projects. The Intern will work with the other Archives Intern to develop scheduled student archive athons and help shape communications, activities and events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret archival materials related to the history of Edinburgh Medical School.
  • Identify and document diverse narratives that illustrate the college’s legacy.
  • Assist in the development of student archive athons and related educational events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Centre for Research Collections.
  • Provide findings for ongoing EMS300 projects.

Qualifications

  • Academic background or interest in history, archives, or related fields.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
