Role: Electrical Design Engineer / EC&I Engineer
Sector: Renewables
Location: Edinburgh
Contract Length: 6 months
Outside IR35
Rate: 45-50ph
Role Outline:
Drafting electrical schematics and writing control philosophies to support how hardware design ties in with the software. This is with a focus on Hydrogen projects in ATEX environments.
Main Responsibilities:
- Drafting electrical schematics and writing control philosophies to support how hardware design ties in with the software.
- Understand instrumentation and hardware specifications and be able to liaise closely with the Control Systems Engineer.
- Understand ATEX environments and zones to specify appropriate electrical equipment, in accordance with IEC 60079.
Essential Skills:
- Electrical design and hardware specification knowledge.
- EPLAN experience.
- ATEX environments experience – CompEx Ex12 qualification stands out.
- Self-starter – can take minimal information, find out the facts and take the project forward.
- Process industry experience – Hydrogen preferred. Nuclear, gas, downstream oil & gas, or water industry experience could also transfer.
- Desirable – Controls Systems programming knowledge – mainly using Siemens TIA Portal.
