Job Description

We’re recruiting for a skilled and experienced Door Engineer to join a leading service and installation team covering the Central Belt of Scotland. The role involves working on a variety of industrial and commercial door systems including roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, fire doors, and steel security doors.

This is a field-based role offering a mix of planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and new installations across commercial and industrial sites. The position would suit someone with a strong mechanical background, experience in industrial doors, and the ability to work independently to a high standard of safety and workmanship.

Door Engineer Job Overview

  • Service, repair, and install industrial and commercial doors (e.g., roller shutters, sectional doors, fire doors)
  • Carry out routine maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns
  • Complete job sheets and ensure all work is carried out safely and professionally
  • Communicate with customers and office team regarding job status and requirements
  • Maintain tools, PPE, and company vehicle to a high standard
  • Comply with all H&S regulations and procedures on-site

Door Engineer Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Door Engineer (industrial/commercial doors)
  • Strong mechanical skills, with diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
  • CSCS, IPAF, or relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

Door Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • 17.00 – 18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Door-to-door pay
  • Average 40-50 hours per week
  • Time and a half after 4:30pm
  • Double time on weekends
  • Company vehicle and fuel card
