Position

Domestic Assistant based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours and shift pattern

Mon – Wed – Fri = 12 Hours

What you will do

To provide a wide and varied range of Domestic Services which support Clinical Services throughout Ayrshire and Arran in line with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification to fulfil Healthcare Environment Inspectorate Standards and meet Facilities Monitoring Tool Targets. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential.

  • Safe Systems of Work/Work Schedules
  • Departmental Risk Assessments (COSHH, General, Moving and Handling)
  • Codes of Practice/Infection Control Guidelines
  • Correct and economical use of materials and equipment
  • Use of PPE
  • Waste Management
  • Linen Bagging Policy
  • Security Procedures
  • Datix
  • Job Shadowing (usually first week)

NHS Ayrshire & Arran may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case by case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre employment checks.

We are unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 posts or bank contracts.
