We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Diagnostic / Warranty Technician to join a busy and professional workshop in Edinburgh.
This role is ideal for a skilled Vehicle Technician who enjoys advanced diagnostics, fault finding and major mechanical repairs, rather than routine servicing. You ll be working in a modern workshop environment using OEM diagnostic tools and specialist equipment while handling complex repairs and warranty work.

Key Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Responsibilities
- Diagnose complex vehicle faults using OEM diagnostic systems and specialist tools
- Carry out major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements
- Perform advanced electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Conduct root cause analysis in line with manufacturer warranty standards
- Use specialist equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and smoke testers
- Complete road tests, recalibrations and system resets after repairs
- Accurately document work for warranty submissions and manufacturer compliance
- Support and mentor junior technicians within the workshop
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, workshop organisation and health & safety
Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Requirements
- MI Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or Senior Vehicle
Technician
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Experience working with manufacturer diagnostic systems
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong team player with a proactive and professional approach
