Diabetes Specialist Dietitian Development post (Annex 21)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Dietitian to deliver high quality, person centred care to adults living with diabetes. This is a development post suitable for experienced Band 5 Dietitians looking to progress via BDA competency based pathway, or existing Band 6 Dietitians wishing to further consolidate their specialist skills.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- The location is Stobhill hospital, 133 Balornock Rd, Glasgow G21 3UW.
- Permanent contract.
- Part time post of 21.6 hours per week.
- The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 8am 4pm.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist dietetic assessment, treatment and personalised advice for adults with diabetes.
- Deliver both individual consultations and group education sessions.
- Contribute to the delivery and development of structured diabetes education programmes.
- Provide dietetic support to the maternity diabetes service at PRMU.
- Participate in service improvement, pathway development, and quality initiatives.
- Support the training and supervision of dietetic students on practice placements.
- Effectively manage a defined caseload within a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
BSc Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Registered Dietitian (Health and Care Professions Council), Advanced Diploma in Dietetic Practice or equivalent Master’s Level post graduate education. Membership of the British Dietetic Association and record of CPD relevant to the job title at Master’s level or equivalent. Accredited educator for Type 1 structured group education is desirable. Post qualification experience, additional responsibilities within a specialist area of practice in a multi disciplinary setting, audit experience and evidence of impact on practice, acted in a clinical supervisory capacity, and development and delivery of group educations at post graduate level.
