About the role
We are excited to invite applications for an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurse to join our Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) & Vaccination team at Cowal Community Hospital. The post holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care in line with the new GP contract terms and will become an integral part of the extended Primary Care Team, working collaboratively with GP practices, community nursing colleagues, and allied health professionals to provide excellent, person-centred care to our community.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high quality nursing care to community patients in accordance with GP contract terms.
- Work collaboratively with GP practices, community nursing colleagues and allied health professionals.
- Perform basic and complex wound care, phlebotomy, ear irrigation, vaccinations, patient observations and ECGs.
- Support the extended Primary Care Team in providing holistic and person-centred care.
Qualifications and experience
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Demonstrated skills, values and commitment required to deliver outstanding care within a community setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive, multi-professional team.
- Desirable experience in wound care, phlebotomy, ear irrigation, vaccination, patient observation and ECG.
- Familiarity with community nursing and primary care practices will be an advantage.
Working pattern and benefits
- Effective from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours, with hourly rates adjusted proportionally to keep pay unaffected.
- Flexible working options, including part time or job share arrangements, will also be considered.
