The Centre for Process Analytics and Control Technology(CPACT – ) is a multi-disciplinary collaborationinvolving 21 universities/research institutes and 44 companies.The administrative centre of CPACT is based at the University ofStrathclyde within the Department of Pure and AppliedChemistry. The activities of CPACT involve research, knowledgetransfer and training in the areas of analytical chemistry, dataanalysis, process optimisation, and process performancemonitoring. Experts in leading universities work with technologyvendors and manufacturing companies in the energy,fine/speciality chemicals, petrochemicals, agrochemicals, foodand pharma/healthcare sectors to advance the use of real-timeprocess analysis and process optimisation technologies inmanufacturing. In essence, CPACT is an internationalcommunity of practice based on collaboration betweenmanufacturing companies that deploy advanced measurementand control technology, vendors of the technology – hardwareand software, and innovators of new technological solutions forprocess analysis and control.

CPACT wishes to appoint an Admin Assistant to supportengagement with the member organisations, promote CPACT,and contribute along with other members of the admin team tothe organisation of various activities which include committeemeetings, webinars, other on-line events, in-person courses,workshops and the APACT conference. You will be suitablyqualified with experience in the following:

  • Experience of working with multiple partner organizations
  • Organization of on-line and in-person events and activities
  • Experience of using various forms of marketing communicationsincluding social media (e.g. LinkedIN)
  • Creative thinker, happy to share and try new ideas
  • Experience of preparing marketing material
  • You will be IT literate, with experience of Microsoft Officepackages, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • It would also begood if you have a knowledge of Canva.
  • You will have excellentverbal and written communication skills.
  • You will also haveexcellent interpersonal, and team working skills and have theability to communicate with business managers at all levels inacademia and industry.
  • You should also be experienced in organising your ownworkload, within a busy office environment, and you will have anability to work under pressure, using your own initiative. Awillingness to contribute flexibly to a range of administrativetasks is essential. Experience of working in an HE environment,or similar, and familiarity with university procedures andregulations (e.g. Finance Office, Purchasing/Procurement) isdesirable but not essential.
