Job Description

Empower Talent is recruiting a Controls Engineer for a large food manufacturing site in Glasgow.

This is a hands-on role on a live production site – ideal for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, solving problems, and improving how automated lines actually run.

What youll be doing

  • Working with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems across high-speed production lines
  • Fault-finding and improving Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controlled equipment
  • Supporting shift engineers with automation issues and developing their capability
  • Identifying and delivering improvements to reliability, safety and output
  • Supporting commissioning and upgrades to existing machinery
  • Acting as the go-to person on site for more complex controls issues

What were looking for

  • Experience in a Controls Engineer or automation-focused role within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs(or similar with willingness to learn)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Hands-on approach – someone who enjoys fault finding and improving systems
  • Food/FMCG experience is ideal, but not essential
