Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a fully redesigned Geriatric Medicine Service within a modern facility, collaborating with a large team of NHS colleagues. This position is based at QEUH, with some rehabilitation ward cover at Gartnavel General Hospital. The role includes acute receiving duties for older adults on a 1:8 rotational basis, with onsite post-receiving ward hours from 8 am to 8 pm, and out-of-hours on-call from home. Responsibilities include acute assessment, short-stay, rehabilitation wards, and weekly geriatric clinics.
Applicants must hold full GMC Registration, a license to practice, and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatric or General Medicine. UK-trained candidates should have CCT or CESR. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Candidates should be capable of working independently and possess strong team-working skills to lead multidisciplinary team meetings. Experience in complex discharge planning is desirable. The role involves providing clinical supervision for resident doctors.
