Job Overview
Are you a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine looking for your next challenge? Would you like to work with a friendly, welcoming and forward-thinking team? NHS Ayrshire and Arran are currently recruiting for a new consultant post.
The successful applicant will join the Sexual Health Department based at the Gatehouse in Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine and for HIV outpatient care the Blood Borne Virus team within the Infectious Diseases Department, based at University Crosshouse in Kilmarnock. The post holder will be expected to provide direct clinical care as part of a fully integrated sexual health service and leadership as part of the sexual health strategy. In close collaboration with our public health colleagues, the post holder will participate in local and national quality improvement activities, support and take part in educational activities.
A final job plan will be agreed with the successful candidate on appointment and will be reviewed according to educational and service needs. There is no on-call commitment or pager with this post.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have full GMC registration, a licence to practice and be on the Specialist Register by the time of starting post. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to a CCT in Genitourinary Medicine or within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. Those eligible for specialist registration (CESR) should be in receipt of this at time of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
