Job Overview

Due to an expansion of our service, an excellent opportunity has become available to support children and young people with additional complex health needs in a variety of settings, including Glenmar (Residential House), private residencies across Fife, and education settings. This service is managed as part of the wider Children & Young People’s Community Nursing Service (CYPCNS). We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and self motivated registered nurse who is committed to the provision of safe, effective child centred quality care. We work closely with all our partners across health & social care, third sector, and education.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, the post holder will provide nursing care and support to children and young people with exceptional health care needs. The role requires ensuring high standards of care are delivered by providing training and supervision to other nurses, healthcare support workers, education and social care staff, and students in clinical skills relevant to children with exceptional health care needs.

The nurse will also assist the Nurse Team Leader in ensuring all aspects of each child’s care plan are met and will support and supervise junior staff and parents in the day to day delivery of care.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registered nurse (any recognised nursing qualification)
• Previous experience working with children and young people with exceptional health care needs (advantageous)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a multi agency team

Training & Development

All appropriate training required for the role will be provided, and opportunities for ongoing professional development will be available alongside a team of knowledgeable, experienced staff.

Additional Information

All applicants must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme before appointment.
