The role

Glasgow City HSCP is expanding its capacity to deliver care and treatments in more appropriate community-based settings, reducing reliance on general practice. This includes supporting the Vaccination Programme, which is coordinated at NHSGGC Board level, with the HSCP overseeing local implementation.


The Immunisation and Injections Team works in collaboration with Public Health, General Practice, and partner agencies to help address health inequalities and improve access to care.


You will be supporting the Team Lead and wider team in delivering a safe, effective, and person centred service.


You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.


Duration, Location, and Working Pattern


  • Full-time post working 36 hours per week

  • Monday to Sunday from 08:30 to 16:30

  • Blair Court, 100 Borron Street, Glasgow, G4 9XE


Key responsibilities


  • Deliver accessible, safe, culturally sensitive and person centred care to adults, children and young people within the community.

  • Work in partnership with patients, families, carers and a wide range of partner agencies including General Practice, Primary Care, Education and Public Health to support the delivery of immunisation, vaccination and injection programmes.

  • Contribute to reducing health inequalities through effective collaborative working across services.

  • Support the Team Lead and wider team in maintaining high standards of care and service delivery, while demonstrating the ability to work independently when required. Use your initiative and demonstrate effective leadership and problem solving skills to deliver a high quality service.


Qualifications


  • First Level NMC Registered Nurse

  • Evidence of continuing professional development, including immunisation training

  • Completion of the ‘Promoting Effective Immunisation and Vaccination Practice’ e learning course

  • Good IT skills, communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Awareness of national immunisation and vaccination policy drivers

  • Awareness of national policy and legislation relating to Adult and Children’s services

  • Car driver essential, with travel required across urban and rural areas
