Job Description
We are looking for a CNC Turner to work on a permanent basis for our client who are a dynamic global manufacturing organisation based in Gourock.
The Package and work pattern for the CNC Turner role:
- Salary is 15.79 to 16.83 per hour
- Working hours: 39 hours per week Monday – Thursday, 8.00am – 5.00pm & Friday, 8.00am – 1.00pm,
- 22 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

- Back shift: Monday to Thursday, 11:45am to 21:45pm
- Night shift: Monday to Thursday, 21:45pm to 08:00am (must be willing to work these shifts with reasonable notice)
Key Responsibilities for the CNC Turner role:
- Set and operate CNC Lathes (programme when required)
- Produce components to customer drawing specifications safely and efficiently
- Create accurate programs when required
- Undertake offset or program changes to ensure component compliance
- Ensure machine routings and processes run at optim0um efficiencies
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all components in production
- Liaise with Team Leader and/or Machine Shop Supervisor to ensure timely work completion
- Maintain a tidy and organized work area in compliance with Health & Safety policies
- Accurately record daily labor hours through Internal Operating Bookings System
- Support, train, and advise other employees as needed
- Perform any other duties as required by the company
Key Relationships for the CNC Turner role:
- Reports directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor (MSS)
- Works closely with Team Leader and other machinists
Required Competencies for the CNC Turner role:
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and understand machinery instructions
- Efficiency and ability to work quickly without supervision
- Problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to minor issues
- Accurate record-keeping skills
- Team player and self-motivated
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and ability to work to tight tolerances
Essential Qualifications for the CNC Turner role:
- Time Served Turner (or similar experience)
- Experience in setting and operating CNC Lathes
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in setting and operating CNC Vertical Borers
