We are looking for a motivated and compassionate registered healthcare professional to join our Vaccination Team delivering the national vaccination programme across Caithness and Sutherland.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer vaccines safely in line with PGDs, protocols, and national standards.
  • Provide clear information, reassurance, and support to patients and carers.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and support the safe running of vaccination clinics.
  • Work flexibly across a range of settings, including community clinics, schools, and care homes.
  • Participate in vaccination education and health promotion.

Qualifications

  • A registered nurse, midwife, or allied health professional with current NMC/HCPC registration.
  • Confident in working independently within scope of practice and as part of a wider team.
  • Committed to high standards of clinical care, infection prevention, and patient safety.
  • In possession of a full driving licence and able to travel within Caithness and Sutherland as required.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, usually a 7.4 hour shift between the hours of 08:00-18:00, depending on service need.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Additional Information

  • Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part time hours will be adjusted on a pro rated basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
