Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist Community Rehabilitation within our Physiotherapy Community Rehabilitation Team based in South Ayrshire. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
36 hours per week. Job share will be considered for this post. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part time staff) without loss of earnings.

What you will do
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Physiotherapist with experience in Community Rehabilitation to work within this established and expanding team within the beautiful setting of South Ayrshire. Additional Investment in Community Rehabilitation reflects the Health and Social Care Partnership’s commitment to developing our future workforce. This role encompasses Physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients within a multidisciplinary team.
- You should have broad previous experience which must include community rehabilitation, or frailty and falls prevention.
- As a senior clinician, you will deliver highly skilled physiotherapy to patients and be a proactive member of the multidisciplinary team.
- You will supervise and support Community Rehabilitation Team members at every level.
- You will deliver physiotherapy to patients across South Ayrshire localities, act as a senior clinical decision maker, lead complex care, and ensure patients are rehabilitated effectively and efficiently.
- You will make onward referrals to other services as required and support the development of less experienced, and unregistered staff within the team.
- You will be supported to develop into the role and responsibilities of a specialist Band 6 clinician in rehabilitation, and contribution to practice education is expected.
- Provide skilled community based physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
- Lead the community team.
- Travel to housebound patients across South Ayrshire.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post
- Current HCPC registration
- Variety of experience across physiotherapy rotations or roles relevant to community rehabilitation.
- An interest in community rehabilitation, falls and frailty
- Undertaken training and clinical improvement relevant to the role (including experience of supporting other members of the team)
