Cleansing Operatives

Job Description

We are in need of the below for the Brighton area – City Parks.

Cleansing operatives to work weekends Saturday and Sunday between 06.00-10.00.

The candidates need to drive and will be changing bins and litter picking in the parks.

Drive and operate a council van, to sites to facilitate cleansing work & waste transfer including:

• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance reporting
• Undertake cleansing including:
• Litter picking
• Bin changing
• Sweeping & clearing hazardous items from playgrounds
• Clearing weeds, detritus, and fly tipping
• Follow prescribed routes, schedules, and verbal or written instructions
• Dispose of waste correctly in line with legislation and council procedures
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times
• Maintain communication with supervisors and team members during shifts

Induction days will be 21st, 22nd and 23rd April, with a start date of 25th April.

The role will run until the end of August.
