Job Description
£16,079.12 per annum – 25 hours per week, term time only.
Applications are invited from suitably experienced, enthusiastic and committed teaching assistants for the above post, from August 2026 to June 2027.
We are seeking a well qualified and motivated person who wishes to make full use of their talents and enthusiasm, working as part of a dedicated and professional team within the Primary School and our Outdoor Provision at
Responsibilities
- Support children during outdoor learning at (Hutchesons’ at Pollok Park)
- Provide classroom support to the Lower and Upper Primary Departments
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of the Additional Support for Learning Department
- Provide administrative support to Teaching Staff throughout the Primary School
Learning and Teaching
- Encourage language development and support literacy and numeracy development
- Assist pupils and build positive relationships with them
- Support and participate in children’s play activities, e.g., by listening and talking with children, joining in play activities, and supporting individuals
- Supervise and guide pupils undertaking work set by the teaching staff, including practical activities
Care and Welfare of Pupils
- Assist in playground supervision and wet playtime activities
- Provide early morning play supervision
- Escort and supervise pupils within the school, at and on trips
- Provide first aid to pupils within the school, at and on trips
- Liaise with Deputes and teaching staff to monitor pupil behaviour
- Organise playground equipment
Organisation of Resources
- General administrative duties
- Prepare, collate and catalogue learning materials as required
- Maintain stock, storage and distribution of resources as required
The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
The post will be over 5 days, 25 hours per week, term time.

You will hold a Classroom Assistant/Playworker qualification, be a qualified teacher, or have relevant school based experience. Forest School or Outdoor Learning experience is desirable.
