Job Description
Driver Hire Perth are recruiting for a Class 2 Frontline Driver to work throughout the winter in Perth. This is a seasonal contract, starting mid-October until the end of April 2025.
You will work a pre-planned work pattern, where there will be a mixture of days and nights on a rota. You will also be required to participate in the standby rota, which is done on a rota, and paid in addition to the hourly rate. You will be required to be flexible in response to unexpected changed in the weather.
Class 2 Frontline Driver Requirements:
- Category C entitlement on your UK driving licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence
Class 2 Frontline Driver Duties:
- Road maintenance in line with adverse weather conditions including gritting and ploughing
- Carrying out vehicles checks on a daily basis and completing the defect book
- Making yourself available for other duties in the yard when the weather is not adverse
- Highway maintenance work including litter picking, tarring and gritting
Class 2 Frontline Driver Pay:
- Dayshift paid at 14.29 per hour (includes holiday pay)
- Overtime paid after 40 hours at 21.43 per hour
- Nightshift paid at 18.49 per hour (includes holiday pay)
- Overtime paid after 40 hours at 25.72 per hour
Ideally you will have held your licence for a minimum of 12 months, and have some HGV driving experience. However, if you are a newly qualified Class 2 Driver you will be considered.
