Job Description
We’re currently working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who is looking to bring in an experienced Civil Engineer to support a large-scale bulk earthworks project.
This is a key role on a major scheme and would suit someone with strong earthworks experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Role:
- Setting out for bulk earthworks, including cut & fill operations
- Carrying out volume calculations and supporting material management
- Interpreting drawings, models, and specifications
- Producing and reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are carried out safely
- Monitoring progress and reporting against programme
- Quality control, inspections, and maintaining accurate site records
- Coordinating with subcontractors, plant operators, and site teams
- Supporting planning and sequencing of works to maximise efficiency
- Assisting with as-built surveys and documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience on bulk earthworks or large-scale civils projects
- Strong setting out skills using GPS/total station equipment
- Good understanding of earthworks operations, including cut & fill and ground modelling
- Experience with volume tracking and material management
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- CSCS card (essential)
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach on site
